    Spicy Turkey Burger!

It's warming up here in Missouri, which means BBQing for many of us. The only problem is I don't actually have a BBQ here. I guess that makes sense to not install a BBQ inside an apartment, but I need a patio and BBQ at my disposal! I'm from California and basically every house, apartment complex, and car comes with one there. Okay, maybe not the cars. But still! I do know that the BBQ scene is huge out here though! So don't worry about me, I'll be harassing some friends soon to borrow their patios and the BBQs.

So with the need to grill, but being stuck in my crappy little apartment kitchen I had to make do. I picked some things I could make in the oven and on the stove. Some corn on the cob go the oven and turkey burgers on the stove. This burger is just so fresh and simple that it's perfect for summer.

And since I don't eat red meat, this burger is perfect for me. The spices added made it the most delicious burger I've made in a LONG time. Follow the recipe exactly or use it as a guide to your perfect burger. I made some of the burgers stuffed with cheese and some without. Both ways were great and super tasty. Toast your buns, add some tomato, add some avo...you do you. But the burger itself is most important! And we are using that adobo sauce from the spicy cilantro lime avocado sauce so you finally have a use for the rest of that!

How to make Spicy Turkey Burgers

    1. In a large bowl use clean hands or a wooden spoon to mix your burger ingredients until well combined. You want everything mixed in thoroughly so make sure you really spread out those seasonings.
    2. Form your meat into patties. And if you'd like to make them cheese stuffed fold cheese into small pieces and place on top in the middle of one small patty and layer another small patty on top of that, close the sides by pinching the edges together. Place patties on parchment paper on a plate.
    3. Heat a large saucepan on the stove with a little bit of olive oil over medium/high heat. When heated, place the patties in the pan using a spatula. You can also cook these on the grill, whatever you prefer.
    4. Cook on one side until half of the patty is cooked, then flip. Once flipped watch the sides to see when the burger has been cooked all the way through. You'll want an internal temperature of 165° F.
    5. When your patties are all cooked assemble your burger on your toasted buns and load up with veggies and toppings.
    6. Enjoy!

This is my go-to recipe for making burgers. It is the perfect amount of spice and I love the addition of the chipotle flavor from the adobo. I have made these countless times and they are so easy, but pack major flavor. The havarti cheese melts perfectly for burgers, but I have used any cheese I have on hand and they are always delicious.

I'm so glad to hear they are a staple for you! They are definitely made often in our home too. Love how much flavor they pack. And yes, definitely any melty cheese is perfect on these.
